As Christ followers, we are supposed to show love and respect to everyone…everyone. That’s what Jesus did. Whether you face injustice, slander, persecution, discrimination, or a culture of people you’re afraid of because you don’t understand them; we are commanded by God to love one another and pray for one another. For many people it’s hard to be authentic and, at the same time, be loving toward people you don’t understand, but we must strive through our feelings and journey toward the obedience God calls…the obedience that leads to loving others, regardless of what they believe or how they live. I’m not perfect. You’re not perfect. No one is perfect. Jesus never told us to grab a black robe and a hammer and make judgments on people who think differently or live differently. If Jesus didn’t put on the robe and He is God, then you and I sure don’t have the right to do it. We must love our LGBT neighbors no differently than you love people you do understand.
I really like this article and thought you might as well.
Blessings to all.
