FIJI and You…Who Would’ve Thunk It?

FIJI bottled waterI’m sitting here in a Starbucks (imagine that), drinking a grande coffee w/cream & 2-Splendas (as usual), and I’m drawn to the little refrigeration unit under the counter that contains all of the cool drinks, such as water and juice.  The Fiji water bottles are aligned so perfectly.  They are compartmentalized by size; the big ones are on the left and the smaller ones on the right.  I’m so impressed with their perfect alignment.  They look awesome.  I think anyone would be impressed or at least give a raised eyebrow to this display of this work of refrigeration H2O artwork.  OK, maybe it isn’t “art”, but it is definitely a masterpiece.  Someone took these bottles out of the shipping box and carefully placed them exactly where they need to be, in the environment they need to be in, and lined them up perfectly so that others would notice.  Others who are thirsty or even attracted to the display itself.

These Fiji bottles and their alignment aren’t technically perfect, but they are uniform.  They will not remain perfectly aligned as someone, probably a customer, will reach in and pick one up and disrupt the formation.  No doubt, a Starbucks employee will frequently straighten things up ever so often and bring the formation back to where it needs to be so that the efficiency of attracting the thirsty can be maintained.

Interesting how the bottles come in different shapes and sizes, but they all contain the same thing.  They contain the answer to every human person’s thirst needs.  There isn’t one human on earth that doesn’t need what is in these Fiji bottles.  Without it, every person would die.

It’s also interesting how the bottles aren’t perfect and even the formation isn’t perfect, but that is really irrelevant.  At the end of the day, the thirsty needs what’s inside.

Also interesting that the Starbucks manager doesn’t keep the Fiji bottles boxed up in the storage room, but they are available to anyone, anyone who desires to have one.  It’s available to everyone.

Unfortunately, this Fiji water isn’t free.  You must pay a price for this Fiji bottled water.

Fortunately, God has given believers the Holy Spirit, who lives within them, to give.  There is nothing God has given you that you were meant to keep.  Not one blessing, not one gift.  Believers are called to live life with open hands.  Like the Fiji bottles, fully devoted followers of Christ are aligned by the hand of God for His purposes, they are available to the world to extend God’s offer of life today and eternal life tomorrow, and most importantly perhaps; like the Fiji bottled water, God’s free gift of salvation was not free.  Someone paid a price so that you could receive this gift of salvation.  Jesus Christ, God’s own son, came to earth in human form, suffered, died on the cross, and rose from the dead so that…so that you could have eternal life.  The price has been paid.

The question is will you receive God’s free gift to you?  If you’ve never received Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior, I want to ask you this, “If you died right now, where would you go?”  My next question to you would be, “If what you were believing were not true, would you want to know it?”  Repent of your sins and ask Jesus Christ to rule and reign in your heart.  Romans 10:9-10 says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  Come as you are.  Don’t try and get cleaned-up because you can’t.  You’ve tried that before time and time again.  Just come.  Come to Jesus.  He will give you hope, forgiveness, love, peace, salvation, and many other blessings.  You don’t need great faith, just a tiny bit.  But come to Him now and pray a prayer something like this, but in your own words.

Father, I need You.  I repent of my sins…I’m sorry.  Please forgive me and come into my life.  I’m tired of spinning my wheels.  Be the Lord of my life.  I need You.  Thank You for Your mercy and grace.  Thank You for my salvation.

Maybe you’re a believer, but you’ve been in a box in the storage room, unavailable to the rest of the world.  Maybe you haven’t been living your life with the purpose of glorifying God through your witness.  When was the last time you took an unbeliever, turning the pages of Scripture, and shared the Word of God with him/her?  I want to encourage you to allow the manager, God, to put you out there for the world.  The world needs what you have inside of you.  If you allow Him to do that and you step forth in courage, He will use you like you never imagined.

Fiji bottled water…God is represented everywhere.  We only have to look and ask.

PS-drink more water, it’s good for you.
